Featured Customer | Kitchen Lighting Gets Upgrade with Porcelain Wall Lights
While some homeowners know exactly what they want for kitchen lighting, Julio landed on the other end of the spectrum. A retired electrician, he knew exactly what he did NOT want — high hats, track lights, and fluorescents topped his list.
“We wanted something totally different,” the Greenville, South Carolina, homeowner explains. Searching online, he found a few goosenecks that piqued his interest. When he came across Barn Light Electric, he was delighted with the array of choices, customizing options, and American-made quality of these fixtures.
Julio and his wife Patty remodeled their kitchen in an antique/modern style. They kept most of their white cabinets and added a laminated wall and two Rev-A-Shelf pull out shelves for convenience. For kitchen lighting, the couple chose the Goodrich® Seaside Radial Wave Reflector Porcelain Gooseneck Light to highlight the cabinets. These American-made wall lights are customized with 12″ shades and a Graphite finish.
“The Graphite color is close to the kitchen wall color which is a blue/gray,” Julio says. A retired electrician, Julio used 3/4″ EMT conduit piping painted black to install his new gooseneck lights.
Over the new laundry room door and over the kitchen sink, Julio chose the matching Wheeler™ Seaside Radial Wave Reflector Wall Sconce. These wall sconces are also customized with 12″ shades and the high-gloss Graphite porcelain enamel finish. Julio used Cree LED flood lights in all of his new kitchen lighting to save energy.
“The Seaside Radial Wave Goosenecks and the matching Wheeler Seaside Wall Sconces were exactly the style we wanted for our kitchen project,” Julio says. “We love the design and layout of the fixtures which look great while still keeping energy efficient with the Cree LEDs.”
