Professional's Corner | Modern Chandelier for Celebrity Nursery
Celebrity babies may have high-profile parents, but their needs are much like every other newborn’s. A comfy crib, a rocker for feeding time, and diapers. Lots of diapers. Vanessa Antonelli, a New Jersey-based designer with an extensive roster of celebrity clients, was tapped recently by Spy Kids alum Alexa PenaVega and her husband Carlos to design their new baby’s nursery. With every client, Vanessa spends a lot of time listening before she starts creating. Clients also fill out a questionnaire and share photos of anything they find appealing or inspirational. The designer was responsible for the entire layout of the home plus the sourcing of flooring, tile, furniture, cabinetry, lighting, and wall, window and ceiling treatments. The complete gut renovation of the home, located in Milford, Connecticut, started shortly after new homeowners purchased it. ... Read More

A star is born. When the offices of Story Culture, a television production house in Midtown Manhattan, were recently gutted and remodeled, designer Jowill Leano struggled with the unique challenges of the space. In addition to offices, there are editing and screening rooms, equipment rooms, communal spaces, a kitchen, lobby, and conference room all with their own special requirements for color, soundproofing, and lighting. ... Professional's Corner | Kitchen Pendant Lighting Pops in Neutral Space
In my Monday morning meander through Houzz, I spotted this post on how to bring balance to an all-white kitchen. The crisp look of white remains popular according to this Houzz research, but many homeowners favor a splash of color to soften the look. One of the examples featured in that Houzz post came from designer Senalee Kapelevich of SVK Interior Design in San Francisco. The featured space was a kitchen in dire need of a refresh. ... Read More
