When Robin started creating her custom home, she turned to the surrounding Texas hill country for inspiration.
“I was going for an eclectic, artistic, cozy, hill country look,” Robin says. “We wanted a lively yet comfortable home that represents the hill country of Texas and nearby Austin which is very eclectic and a little bit rustic.”
Robin’s home features a lot of natural wood with black, white, and pops of color. Since much of her home was custom made, Robin turned to Barn Light Electric where she could custom build her lighting.

One of their recent projects was a new build in Woodside, California, which included a home and a barn plus a remodeled potting shed and a new two-story water tower built in the same place and likeness as a 100-year-old water tower that was removed.

The Frye family has been farming in eastern Iowa since the late 1800s, and though much has changed in farming since those early days, Susan Frye still carries on the traditions. Owner of Small Frye Farm, Susan’s efforts produce a thriving CSA — Community Supported Agriculture — for neighbors in both Scott and Johnson counties.
Susan gets plenty of visitors to the farm buying fresh cut flowers and homegrown organic food. She is slowly restoring some of the older buildings on the farm and wanted to add some exterior barn lights.
