Patsy and her husband’s middle Tennessee home is a popular spot in the summer. Family and friends enjoy the couple’s backyard pool but, with no bathroom nearby, Patsy was facing another summer of wet traffic through her house. She began to envision a bathhouse for her yard.
“I sketched out what I wanted and my husband drew it up on a $20 computer program,” Patsy says. “We did all the work ourselves using every free moment we had.” Patsy desired a simple and clean design with white board-and-batten walls, galvanized metal roof, and black accents.

Last October, we featured the transformation of Kelli’s front entry and hallway of her childhood home. Kelli, who writes the Lolly Jane blog with her twin sister Kristi, has been slowly renovating the 40-year-old farmhouse with dedicated followers watching the progress on her blog.

When John and Courtney purchased a home in 2014 as a foreclosure, they faced a daunting renovation. Built in 1882 and dubbed Content for the peaceful happiness it brought to the owner, the home was historically significant but had been neglected and abandoned in recent years.
Although busy with full-time jobs and with no prior renovation experience, the couple completely overhauled the home with a thoughtful eye towards preserving vintage details. The transformation didn’t go unnoticed as they started getting requests from other homeowners for renovation and design help.
